Unity 2020.1.x - Unity 6.1.x

Users may encounter an issue where their developer account is disabled due to an overdue payment for services. This status can prevent them from settling the invoice, leading to a potential loss of years of project data.

Issue

An organization's developer account becomes disabled account due to an overdue payment for Unity DevOps services. Despite the payment amount being minimal, the account holder is unable to settle the invoice because the disabled account status prevents any payment transactions. Repeated attempts to contact support have not resulted in a resolution, with support representatives consistently advising to pay the overdue invoice, seemingly without acknowledging the impossibility of doing so while the account remains a disabled account. This situation leads to a critical risk of data deletion, as the disabled account is scheduled for deactivation and loss of associated data.

Experimental Fixes
  • Investigate if a direct payment link for the overdue invoice can be obtained from billing support, bypassing the need to log into a disabled account.
  • Ensure all registered payment methods (e.g., credit card, PayPal) are up-to-date and valid, independent of the disabled account status.
  • Confirm that the attempting user has the necessary organization owner or billing administrator permissions, as permission conflicts could complicate resolving issues with a disabled account.
